"gran" and "medio" Timed Routes
The 60 mile “Medio” and 100 mile “Gran” routes will have adhesive seatpost number plates provided at registration. They have a unique personal-encrypted-decal that will register your time when you cross the Timing Mat 7.8 miles from the start and in return again at 6.7 miles from the finish. (Note the Start at 7.8 miles is different from the finish route.) This is for rider safety, routing away from the busier streets. Please become familiar with your route and check out the Routes Page. The 20-mile family route is not a timed event.
20 Mile “Family" - Green Signs with green sharerrows.
60 Mile “Medio" - Red Signs with red sharerrows.
100 Mile “Gran" - Black Signs with bluesharerrows.
Safety & Rules of the Road

Crossing The Virtual Timed Finish Line
For the safety of the Medio and Gran Riders, once across the Timing Mat on Bouquet Canyon road, the timed event is "Neutral" and over a Social pace to the Start/Finish/Expo Area is appreciated. There are two left hand turns that take place on major roads. Safety First.
Event Sag provided
There will be numerous event sag vehicles providing safety to our riders. These Vehicles will be marked. These vehicles will be able to assist riders in need of support. Please note that you are not allowed to have your own private sag on the route or private feeds outside of feed zones.

Gran and medio start time 8:00AM
“Gran" 7:30AM Staging
All “Gran” 100 mile riders are expected to be staged at 7:30AM on Avenue Reuther behind the Start / Finish truss. We will have a riders meeting to quickly alert you again to the directions of the day. There will be a rolling police neutral-start for the first 5 miles. The police escort will make a left turn on David Way off of Bouquet Canyon Road. The course will continue straight to the Replay Timing “Timed Start” which is at mile 7.8 on Bouquet Canyon Road. The official start time of everyone in the Gran Route will be the time that the first rider crosses the Timing Mat on Bouquet. The last rider in the Peloton is considered already started that far behind the rider who passed first; just as in every stage of every bike race you have watched. For those that have not looked at the supplied route decal, you will stay on Bouquet until the left-hand-turn on Lake Elizabeth Road.
“Medio” 7:30AM staging
All “Medio” 60 mile riders are expected to be staged promptly at 7:30 AM on Avenue Reuther behind the Start Finish truss. At 8:15AM we will have a riders meeting to quickly alert you again to the directions of the day. The “Medio" riders will depart with the rolling police neutral-start for the first 5 miles. The Police escort will make turn left on David Way off of Bouquet Canyon Road and the course will continue straight to the Replay Timing “Timed Start” which is at mile 7.8 on Bouquet Canyon Road. The start time of everyone in the Medio Route will be the time that the first rider crosses the Timing Mat/sensor on Bouquet. The last rider in the Peloton is already starting that far behind the rider who passed first, just as in every stage of every bike race you have watched. For those that have not yet looked at the supplied route decal, you will stay on Bouquet until the left-hand-turn on Lake Elizabeth Road.
“Family” 9:15AM Staging
The Family Route will stage at 9:15AM behind the start Finish truss. There will be a riders meeting to explain the rules of the route. It too will have a police neutral-roll-out of 1-mile to a left-hand-turn to the bike path on Ruether and Soledad Canyon Road. From there you will follow the green signs with yellow arrows for a 20-mile route (water stop included) that returns to the same Finish truss at the expo area. The Family Route will be open all afternoon. All participants will receive a t-shirt and water bottle.
Aaron Boyleston was the overall winner of the GRANFONDO with a blistering time of under four hours, average pace of 23 mph. He is holding his prize of a very custom ANVIL tool case designed by Richard Johnson.
